The Road Trip

This summer we went on a road trip from Minneapolis to Salt Lake City.  Our 2000 mile journey was everything I imagined it would be.  Quaint cabins, beautiful vistas, and encounters with wildlife made this a trip I will long remember.  Our family of 4 drove through 5 states (if you count a short stretch of road through Idaho) in ten days, in a rented Kia van.

While we hit up many of the big attractions like the national parks, national memorials, and national monuments, we also stayed at out of the way cabins where it was just the four of us in the great outdoors.  Along the way, we stopped at Big Sioux Recreation Center, The Badlands National Park, Wall, Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park, Summit Ridge Cabin, Devil’s Tower National Monument, Yellowstone, and Deer Creek Guard Station Cabin.  My next blog posts will be about the cabins we stayed in along the way.
