Omiyage – Gifts from Japan

Omiyage is a Japanese tradition, little gifts brought back from a trip for family, friends and co-workers.  Traditional Omiyage are brightly packaged sweets, but here in Hawaii, we often bring back other small items too.  We usually bring back items we can’t find locally.   Here are some Omiyage brought back from Japan by my brother and his family 🙂

  • Hoshi Ume – Ume is a popular treat here, and according to Wikipedia related to the plum and the apricot.
  • Jet Stream 2 & 1 Pen – This is both a pen and a mechanical pencil

On your next trip will you buy Omiyage?
